The Purbeck Breezer stops right outside. Hop on a comfortable modern bus suitable for families with young children and all the equipment that comes with them.

Services connect Poole town centre and harbour with Wareham and Swanage. From Corfe Castle and  Wareham, you can catch onward connections to Weymouth and the western Jurassic Coast. Take in the gorgeous views of the rolling Dorset hills and pretty villages.

The frequency. Services run regularly enough that you’re not tied to rigid schedules. Miss one bus and another follows within a reasonable time. That flexibility matters when you’re managing tired children or weather changes.

  • Poole Harbour and town centre (15 minutes), Quay and Sandbanks peninsula connections
  • Poole town centre (15 minutes), connection to trains to London or Weymouth
  • Wareham, historic market town (20 minutes)
  • Swanage Victorian seaside town (40 minutes), has connections to Corfe Castle and Purbeck villages.

From Swanage, you can connect to the Jurassic Breezer coastal service. This scenic route travels to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and continues to Weymouth. All the iconic Jurassic Coast locations become accessible without requiring your own vehicle.

The buses themselves work for families. Space for buggies and beach equipment. The MoreBus drivers are familiar with visitor requirements and know which stops serve which attractions.

You buy a ticket via the morebus mobile app, or you can pay the driver with contactless. Day passes are available if you’re planning multiple journeys. Family tickets offer better value than individual fares.

Timetables change seasonally. Summer brings increased frequency, whilst winter, a regular service is provided. Check current schedules through the MoreBus Purbeck Breezer website or ask at reception for printed timetables showing all stops and connection times.

Brittany Ferries Barfleur leaving Poole Dorset
Barfleur – Brittany Ferries

Poole Ferry Terminal is 15 minutes from the park. Regular services to Jersey, Guernsey and Cherbourg in France open up possibilities beyond Dorset exploration.

Day trips to the Channel Islands work surprisingly well. Early morning departure gets you there for a full day exploring before evening return. The islands offer duty-free shopping, different coastal scenery and a French influence that feels like going abroad without the airport hassle.

Condor Ferries / Brittany Ferries operates the main services with modern vessels offering comfortable facilities for the crossing. The journey itself becomes part of the experience rather than just transport between locations.

  • Book ferry trips well in advance during peak season
  • Early morning departures return the same evening for day trips
  • Foot passenger tickets are significantly cheaper than taking vehicles
  • Onboard facilities include restaurants, shops and outdoor deck areas
  • Weather can affect schedules, so check conditions before booking.

If you are planning an adventure to France or northern Europe. The park provides an excellent stop-off point enroute or on return.

Journey times include waiting for connections and walking to final destinations. Peak season brings busier services but more frequent departures. Weather affects the appeal of outdoor attractions more than when driving. School holidays mean busier buses and attractions throughout

Mobile apps help track real-time bus locations. The Morebus app shows approaching services and any delays. This removes guesswork about when buses actually arrive.

Guests at the park enjoy the option to travel flexibly. Choosing to drive to the park, then use public transport for coastal visits whilst keeping the car for evening restaurant trips or rainy day alternatives. This hybrid approach maximises flexibility whilst reducing overall driving.

Weather contingency planning matters for car-free holidays. Our friendly team can suggest covered attractions and indoor options when coastal trips become less appealing. Wareham offers independent shops and cafes. Poole provides museums and shopping centres. Having wet-weather alternatives keeps everyone happy.
