The team scoop two Gold Awards at the Dorset Tourism Awards
South Lytchett Manor Camping and Caravan Park have even more reason to celebrate as it marks 20 years of family ownership, scooping two prestigious accolades at the Dorset Tourism Awards.
The five-star park, situated near Poole, was awarded Gold in Camping and Caravanning Park of the Year, sponsored by Key Digital and Gold in Dog Friendly Business of the Year, sponsored by Booking.com, recognising its commitment to exceptional hospitality, outstanding facilities and creating memorable holiday experiences for all members of the family, including four-legged guests.
The double success is particularly special as South Lytchett Manor celebrates its 20th anniversary in January 2027. Since taking ownership in 2007, the Bridgen family has transformed the former three-star campsite into one of Dorset’s most highly regarded parks, continually investing in its facilities, guest experiences and beautiful 20-acre grounds.
Today, South Lytchett Manor offers an impressive choice of camping, touring, and glamping accommodation, complemented by modern facilities, a welcoming café, a seasonal bar, freshly made pizzas, and visiting food vendors. Its commitment to quality, sustainability, and genuine hospitality has earned the park a strong collection of national and regional awards.

A Warm Welcome for Four-Legged Guests
With more than 60% of guests bringing their dogs on holiday, South Lytchett Manor has firmly established itself as a destination where four-legged visitors are just as welcome as their owners.
The park has invested in a range of dedicated dog-friendly facilities, including a spacious 2.5-acre enclosed off-lead exercise field, a dog agility area, outdoor dog showers and washing facilities, and complimentary puppaccinos and treats. Dogs are also welcome in the park’s café and shop.
The team goes the extra mile to help guests enjoy Dorset with their dogs, sharing recommendations for scenic walks, dog-friendly beaches, local attractions and places to eat. This thoughtful approach ensures that dogs are not simply accommodated but are an integral part of the South Lytchett Manor holiday experience.

Celebrating 20 Years of Exceptional Hospitality
Commenting on the double Gold award success, Jo Bridgen, Owner of South Lytchett Manor, said:
“What a wonderful way to celebrate 20 years at South Lytchett Manor! When we first took over the park, we had a vision to create somewhere truly special, where guests would feel welcome, relaxed and inspired to return year after year.
To receive recognition in both the Camping and Caravanning Park and Dog Friendly Business categories is incredibly rewarding. We know how important dogs are to our guests, and we’ve worked hard to make sure they enjoy their holidays just as much as their owners.
These awards are a fantastic tribute to our dedicated team, whose hard work, enthusiasm and attention to detail make South Lytchett Manor what it is today. We’re also hugely grateful to our wonderful guests, many of whom have been returning for years and have become part of the South Lytchett Manor family.
As we celebrate this special milestone, we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come and excited about what the future holds.”
The Dorset Tourism Awards recognise excellence, innovation and outstanding customer experiences across the county’s vibrant tourism industry, celebrating the businesses and individuals who contribute to Dorset’s reputation as a leading UK holiday destination.
These latest accolades add to South Lytchett Manor’s impressive collection of awards, including its AA Campsite of the Year 2021/22, AA Five-Star Platinum Award and recognition in the Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome Top 100 Sites awards.
As South Lytchett Manor celebrates two decades of welcoming holidaymakers to Dorset, the family and team remain committed to continually improving the guest experience, championing sustainable tourism and ensuring the park remains a much-loved destination for generations to come.
