Autumn adventures

Watch Dorset change colour

Autumn is a beautiful time to explore. Pull on your walking boots and discover woodland paths scattered with leaves, countryside glowing with autumn colour and coastal walks with big skies and spectacular views.

Swap summer crowds for wide-open spaces, invigorating sea air and long walks along the sand. Studland, Sandbanks and the Isle of Purbeck are wonderful places for an out-of-season adventure – especially with the dog in tow.

South Lytchett Manor makes a great base for discovering Dorset’s hidden gems. Head to The Blue Pool in Wareham or Sculpture by the Lakes, Dorchester. For an amazing view, climb Colmers Hill and discover the Holloways, Hell Lane seeped in history on the Symondsbury Estate.  For bracing walks along the South West Coastal Path to visit Chapman’s Pool and Worborrow Bay.

And when the weather has other ideas? Dorset has plenty of indoor attractions to discover too.

Spooky season at South Lytchett Manor

October Half Term brings a little extra mischief to the park.

Join us for some family-friendly Halloween fun, including our Spooky Scavenger Hunt, Pumpkin Carving Competition and Pet Fancy Dress Competition.

Pack the wellies, warm jumpers and Halloween costumes and make South Lytchett Manor your base for an autumn half-term adventure.

Cosy stays, crisp days

There’s a lot to love about a cooler-weather break.

Bring your caravan or motorhome and settle into one of our pitches or turn up the cosy factor with a glamping stay.

Choose from our characterful Romany Caravans, Shepherd Huts, Glamping Pods and Star-gazing Yurts. Imagine returning from a chilly day exploring Dorset, making a hot drink and settling in for an evening away from the everyday.

Our Star-gazing Yurts are especially magical when the nights draw in, clear skies, early sunsets and the warmth of the log burner make autumn and winter a wonderful time for a stay.

Bring the dog along too

Muddy paws are very welcome here.
Autumn is a fantastic season for dog-friendly Dorset adventures. Explore coast paths, beaches, woodland and countryside together, then head back to South Lytchett Manor where your four-legged companion can enjoy our 2.5-acre off-lead exercise field and dog agility area.
And if things get a little muddy along the way, our dog wash is ready and waiting.
